Comprehensive Physicals

At West Isle Urgent Care, we specialize in administering physicals. We're thorough, we're efficient and we're equipped to offer a large variety of exams. Here are just some of the physicals we frequently perform.

Executive and pre-employment physicals

For professionals whose contracts are contingent upon passing an exhaustive medical exam, we offer comprehensive physicals, including extensive lab analysis, EKG, and treadmill-stress tests. We provide complete reports, along with advice on interpreting the results. We also offer a variety of other pre-employment physicals and drug screenings.

FAA physicals

We test both pilots and air traffic controllers. These exams are administered by West Isle Urgent Care’s Medical Director Ted Zompa, M.D., a pilot and airplane owner who makes every effort to keep pilots flying.  He can be contacted at westisleflightphysicals@yahoo.com

School physicals

Whether the player is a high-school sophomore going out for football or a previously injured college basketball forward, we can determine if he or she is fit to compete.

DMV physicals

We perform the Department of Transportation medical exams required to determine whether truck drivers and shuttle-bus drivers can safely operate their vehicles.

SCUBA physicals

We are among the very few medical clinics equipped to evaluate the fitness of divers.

Ergonomic physicals

For individuals assigned to physically demanding jobs, we can determine whether they are safely able to perform the required tasks.

Sports Physicals

If your child is involved in sports, many athletic departments in schools will insist on a physical exam prior to allowing him or her to set foot on a gym floor or sports field.  The aim of a sports physical is to ensure the health and safety of your child while he or she is training and competing in a sport. During the physical our physicians look for medical conditions that may predispose a child to injury or illness during competition.

We offer the convenience of walk-in / no appointment sports physicals every day of the year during our normal office hours; this allows your child to complete his or her sports physical before school, during the day, in the evening or on weekends. This convenient service ensures that your child need not miss a single practice session.

Flu Shots/Vaccinations

West Isle Urgent Care offers flu shots on a walk-in basis during our normal office hours starting in October each year.
Flu shots are offered to all adults and children over 9 years of age and those children over 3 years of age who have previously received the flu vaccination. We recommend that children under 3 years of age are given their flu vaccination (which is administered in two doses) by their pediatrician.
With the exception of Medicare patients, all patients must pay for their flu shot by cash or credit card at the time of the visit. We are required to bill Medicare directly for flu shots given to Medicare patients.
